Final SvI Migration preparation
As part of our final preparation for transitioning services from satellite to SvI transmission at 2400 ET on July 31, 2025, we've issued a 'move-to-SvI' command to AMR-100 and AMR-200 receivers still operating on the legacy SES-2 satellite feed. For the time period between now and 7/31, those AMRs will operate from SvI instead of satellite but will also continue to supply LNB voltage (useful if the AMR is part of a local multiple receiver installation and is powering the LNB). During August we’ll be systematically converting all AMRs to ‘SvI-only mode’ and thus disabling the AMR’s LNB power supply capability. If you have need of an outboard LNB power supply for satellite delivered content, there are several versions on the market. Start by searching for “LNB Power Supply.”
These next days of July are an excellent time period to have your operations personnel verify that all Amb-OS delivered live & prerecorded content continues to be received correctly. Depending on local station configurations, the SvI service ports and server IP addresses may require modifications to your local network firewall implementation to allow traffic to pass between your AMR(s) and any of our servers. We’d suggest that you ask your local IT technical team to review our recently-updated IP addresses and service ports document and make any local changes necessary to allow continued communications to any of the listed servers/ports.
If your AMR experiences errors accessing our network resources you may need to white-list the enumerated addresses and/or inhibit your firewall from executing intrusion prevention or anti-virus measures on these ports/services. To prevent disruption to your service, please ensure that outbound connections are allowed to all of the listed IPs and ports.
